Senior Financial Analyst

Position Summary
Provides analytical and project support for Financial Support Services, particularly focused on accounting for fixed assets. Individual in this position demonstrates increasing skills in collecting and analyzing data, developing management information systems and technology solutions, and coordinating projects across a broad range of business functions. This position is responsible for complex accounting, financial and operational reporting and analysis, and dealing directly with functional management. This position also provides functional and technical advice and training to less experienced staff.
Essential Accountabilities
1. Manages and/or conducts projects related to department operational improvements and/or procedure/policy review and update. Develops recommendations and makes presentations to management and department staff. Educates others on new procedures/policies with a focus on asset management.
2. Researches market/industry practices, collects and analyzes data or information, and draws appropriate conclusions. Presents results in written reports or through oral presentations utilizing supporting presentation materials as appropriate.
3. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries and assists with the month end, quarter end, and year end closing processes.
4. Prepares monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and reports.
5. Assists with preparation of the Bank’s financial statements and footnotes.
6. Provides support for audits and reviews.
7. Assists in developing, revising, and updating accounting policies, controls, and procedures. Comments and provides suggestions on System and Bank Policies and Procedures that involve accounting processes with a focus on asset management.
8. Participates in process and resolution of complex issues involving asset management, including analysis of capital and expense.
9. Designs and/or leads the development of management information reports, tools, and systems.
10. Actively participates on Bank and System initiatives involving accounting-related issues.
11. Leads or completes ad-hoc projects and/or assignments.
12. Coordinates business requirements and processes changes for use in technology or other solutions.
13. Develops training plans and materials for department staff.
14. Manages, coordinates, or conducts activities related to identifying and managing department risks, such as: Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) assessment and compliance activities, COSO testing and documentation, Information Security (nISM) awareness, adherence, and completion of the nISM risk management process, and Business Continuity testing and plan maintenance.
15. Interprets and implements new/revised accounting standards.
16. May assemble and review work prepared by others.
17. Follows somewhat defined procedures. Problems encountered are somewhat complex. Makes decisions and works independently.
18. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
19. Adheres to the Bank's attendance policies through regular and prompt attendance.

Job Requirements

 Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
• 5+ years of related work experience

Knowledge Areas

• Knowledge of financial regulations, procedures, and practices (e.g., U.S. GAAP, PACS, FAM, FRAM)
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint)
• Ability to perform independent research
• Project management, including organization, planning, and execution
