Job Description

The Plant Manager is responsible for leading all production and operational activities which include: blending of batches, filling & packaging of products, plant utility operations, and quality assurance activities. In addition, the Plant Manager will be responsible for facilitating manufacturing operations by supervising staff, organizing and monitoring workflow, and ensuring company standards of efficiency and quality are met.

Directing and coordinating the activities of employees engaged in production of finished goods.
Planning and establishing work schedules, assignments, and production processes to meet production goals.
Determining standards, production and rates based on company policy, equipment and labor availability, and workload.
Conferring with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within departments or between shifts.
Recommending and/or implementing measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
Developing and implementing production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect production problems.
Ensure complete compliance to prescribed QMS, GMPs and 5S processes
Manage the adherence to prescribed procedures to ensure first pass quality meets or exceeds planned goals.
Coordinate and monitor project assignments in process improvement and process control.
Be familiar with new processes, process equipment, process control equipment and inspection and test methods.
Train operating personnel on the use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and monitor control charts for processes that are out of control. Develop action plans to get back in control.
Establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for assigned production operation and/or process.
Investigate quality complaints for root cause of the problem and develop/ implement corrective action plan to eliminate the root cause.
When necessary find and coordinate outside resources to complete identified projects.
Audit production operations to ensure that process settings are as per standard operating procedures.
Report deviations to the Company President and/or staff supervisor after corrections so corrective actions can be taken.
Ensure that all safety procedures are followed.

Qualifications:
BS Engineering, industrial technology, or business management.
7-10 years of senior management experience in manufacturing/chemical processing environment.
Ability to supervise/manage diverse group of associates and managers.
Train/coordinate teams to achieve high levels of productivity, quality and safety performance.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good computer skills.
Proven abilities to successfully drive continuous improvement, manage multiple priorities and multitask.
Ability to work well with other peer groups.
Knowledge of industrial safety regulations.
Additional Consideration Given to Those With:
Exposure to quality programs
Experience with a continuous process discipline such as Six Sigma/Lean/TQM manufacturing environment.
Previous experience with safety programs
