This restaurant concept is part of the overall property transformation of Monte Carlo to Park MGM.  Park MGM is a new concept by MGM and New York City based Sydell Group, conceived to target a more discerning, well-traveled demographic seeking unique experiences and innovative design. Park MGM will appeal to this growing audience’s desire to be more social, connected and culturally aware.

It is the primary responsibility of the Bartender to greet guests, mix and serve drinks and maintain the cleanliness of the bar. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Mix and Serve drinks following set standard recipes.
  • Oversee overall operation of the outlet bar.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the bar.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in the assigned outlet.
  • Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies, keeping bank secure at all times.
  • Provides Apprentices and Porters direction and coaching to ensure proper operation of the bar and assist them when necessary.
  • Clean of all equipment, tools, and supplies and maintain equipment in good working order.
  • Keep count on tickets and perform cash drops at the end of the shift.
  • Ensure correct product is utilized.
  • Communicate with managers, co-workers and guests in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employees.
  • Perform all other job related duties as requested.
  • Required:

  • Ability to take initiative and exhibit flexibility.
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.
  • Ability to maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware, ingredients, preparation method and garnishes for each drink.
  • Ability to be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • A highly motivated and energetic personality.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skill to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and  holidays.
  • Must have documentation of successful completion of the Bartenders Local 165 Joint Apprenticeship Training Program and have passed the craft exam related to the program.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
  • Preferred:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years experience in a bar or similar environment.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
