Job Description


Database Warehouse SQL Developer will focus on designing, implementing, data cleaning and standardization to continuously improve the company-wide data warehouse as well as analyze and report metrics, dimensions and fact tables.

The ideal candidate will be deeply involved in designing/implementing data processing pipelines, data cleansing, standardization, data profiling, and enrichment process with the goal of populating a company-wide data warehouse. Ideally, this candidate should have previous experience with Microsoft data warehousing practices, including SQL Server Analytics and Integration Services and have a firm understanding of data warehousing layout.


  • Creating and maintaining database schema /models (Azure SQL Server, SQL Server 2016, SQL Server 2008 R2)
  • Plan, create, and maintain existing and future data modeling and import through SSIS / SSAS / Data Lake / Data Factory
  • Establishing the needs of users and monitoring user access and security
  • Usage of PowerShell to manage and maintain back-end systems and data integration processes
  • Monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users
  • Play intrigue role in data-warehousing design, development and implementation efforts;
  • Mapping out the conceptual design for a planned database
  • Develop and maintain ETLs, validating results with business representatives (Azure Data Lakes, Data Factory, Spark)
  • Considering both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end-users;
  • Refining the logical design so that it can be translated into a specific data model
  • Supporting implemented BI solutions; monitoring, tuning queries and data loads
  • Creating, maintaining and planning reporting strategy and functionality through Power BI
  • Writing data warehouse documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata)
  • Maintaining data standards, including adherence to PCI and SOX Compliance;
  • Troubleshoot query efficiency for both back-end and front-end applications (T-SQL, Profiler, etc.)
  • Controlling access permissions and privileges
  • Developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans
  • Address user questions concerning data integrity, monitoring performance and communicating functional and technical issues
  • Working with business analysts and project managers to develop and refine reporting and analytics
  • Ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly; capacity planning
  • Commissioning and installing new applications and customizing existing applications in order to make them fit for purpose
  • Communicating regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure data warehouse integrity and security

  • Experience creating and using Azure Analysis Services and Data Factory platform is required
  • A firm understanding of current cloud environment business intelligence solutions / components
  • Professional experience with SSIS/SSAS implementations, configurations, deployment solutions
  • Working knowledge of Big Data BI Solutions using Azure SAS models
  • Strong knowledge of T-SQL and U-SQL programming languages
  • Thorough understanding of Azure Analysis Services
  • Azure Data Factory (involved in the data pipelines/cleansing/standardize data)
  • Experience with GIT repository
  • Participation in open source projects and forums such as stack overflow is a plus
