Senior Systems Engineer to support the Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions Product Line within the Survivability, Targeting and Sensing Solutions Business Area.
This position is for a Senior Systems Engineer to perform EO/IR sensor modeling and analyses to optimize performance of anti-missile seekers for missile defense applications. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of IR focal planes, ROIC fundamentals, telescope optics, cryogenic cooling, optical coatings, and bandpass filters. Knowledge of video image processing, stray light, and contamination control is desirable. Candidates should have experience working on CMMI level 3 programs and formal systems engineering process, IV&V experience, experience with testing in a lab environment, ESS, acceptance and qualification test. Responsibilities include performing systems engineering functions such as requirements definition, trade studies, analyzing test data and modeling to determine solutions and system performance improvements, and developing verification strategies. MATLAB tool skills is a key requirement.
Ability to communicate technical concepts and designs to both internal and external customers is required. Experience in developing and writing specifications, requirements, test plans and procedures and in testing very complex systems.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Scientific Discipline with expertise in EO/IR sensor technology is required.
