Job Description Junior Cost Accountant
Torrance, CA 90505
$22-25/hr – 4 months contract

  • THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY: Junior Cost Accountant
  • The Junior Cost Accountant will be responsible for performing with accuracy, Cost Accounting functions for the company.
  • This person will perform entry-level cost controlling and business analysis to support the controlling team and business partners.
  • This individual will interface with the Director of Controlling and the Controlling team, and the Jr. Cost Accountant will understand how this function impacts the financial statements
  • Review and perform month end cost closing
  • Review of job cost activity ensuring consistent and proper coding
  • Perform perpetual inventory physical cycle counts
  • Reconcile and report on inventories
  • Collect and analyze relevant business and operating data
  • Opex gap analysis
  • Assist in preparation of financial information for monthly report
  • Monitor fixed asset activity in detail
  • Generate month-end depreciation and amortization entries

    BACKGROUND PROFILE: Junior Cost Accountant
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
  • Ability to effectively organize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment
  • Ability to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issues
  • Detail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical and analytical problems
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time
  • Communicate effectively and ability to function well in a team environment
  • Safety Training, GMP regulatory training
