Seeking candidates for proposal scheduled to be released on or about 1Q 2018. BAE Systems in Middletown, RI, is seeking a full-time Production and Planning Operations Manager to direct operations at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center's Division Newport Naval Array Technical Support Center (NATSC). The selected candidate will be interfacing with our primary customer, the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, Rhode Island. BAE Systems is an international leader in developing and delivering advanced aerospace and defense systems for military and commercial customers in the U.S. and around the world The selected candidate will Manage the Production Planning staff engaged in planning, scheduling and monitoring the flow of material through the production cycle -Schedule and expedite the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders,Responsibilities include:

  • Act as liaison with Engineering, Purchasing, Production Control and other applicable departments to resolve any concerns and to achieve optimum utilization of facilities in meeting production schedules,
  • Approve quantities, schedules and parts lists provided to the material control organization to ensure timely and complete ordering, as well as receipt and issuance of production material requirements.
  • Advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed,
  • Coordinate interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, Interfaces and acts as liaison with customers, contractors and suppliers,
  • Review and recommend changes and resolve various production issues.
  • Direct the work activities of assigned subordinate employees. Conducts performance appraisals, review and approve employees' schedules and time off,
  • Work with other managers and employees to implement the company's policies and goals
  • Ensure safety guidelines are being followed
  • Typical Education & Experience Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experienceRequired Skills and Education Typical education and relevant years of experience: High School Diploma and at least 10 years of related/relevant work experience. Security clearance requirement: Active DoD Secret security clearance Additional experience/skills required:• Strong customer focus and experience with relationship building• Understanding of production processes and controls• Strong organization and planning skills• Proficient with executing project plans, staffing, scheduling, monitoring funding, identification of risks, contingency plans and allocation of available resources• Ability to manage customer and corporate requirements simultaneously• Ability to initiate, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously• Ability to operate independently and proactively• Knowledge of towed sonar array construction and fabrication techniques• Strong verbal and written communication skillsPreferred Skills and Education Highly desired, but not required:Experience working at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport and/or knowledge of Towed ArrayBackground in Engineering or other technical disciplineStrong mechanical aptitude and experienceExperience with Navy enterprise resource planning (ERP) program About BAE Systems Intelligence & Security BAE Systems Intelligence & Security, based in McLean, Virginia, designs and delivers advanced defense, intelligence, and security solutions that support the important missions of our customers.
