Dedicated Safety Administrator - Clovis, New Mexico and Roswell, New Mexico
Responsible for driver training and skill assessment to include on-boarding training and orientation, remedial training, accident root cause training, quarterly training, and problem resolution in a safety focused environment. Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, FMCSA regulations. This person will be overseeing both operations in Roswell and Clovis, New Mexico. Employee will have an office onsite at operation in Clovis, New Mexico. Responsibilities:
Perform skill assessments. Train, coach and mentor drivers by helping them to develop the skills necessary to become safe drivers. Evaluate and measure driver productivity and efficiency to ensure compliance with company rules and DOT regulations.
Conduct driver orientation, training, and safety meetings. Assess performance and determine training needs through observations and evaluation of monthly ride alongs. Provide recommendations for continuous training improvement and assist in the on-going process of planning and development of training programs.
Participate in the recruitment, interviewing and selection process of drivers.
Assess and analyze all incidents/accidents at the terminal and provide feedback and recommendations as part of the root analysis process.
Interpret, monitor and enforce DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations to ensure compliance.
Assume the role as the local subject matter safety expert to Operations.
Administer random drug screen and expiration list processes. Process, complete, and maintain necessary training and OSHA paperwork (300 and 300A). Maintain attendance and training history.
Conduct routine audits of terminal and shop to ensure compliance of FMCSA and OSHA regulations. Identify and resolve any problems in order to maintain compliance.cords, notify management as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Health & Safety, Transportation Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field of study.
3-5 years of experience in the truck transportation industry.
Must hold a current Class A CDL license (Required.)
Must have a broad knowledge of DOT/OSHA rules and regulations.
Preferred candidates will have experience in accident prevention and safety training.
Must have strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to assess, coach, mentor and train drivers.
