Job Description

The EDI Coordinator must have a working knowledge of networking and file transfer protocols. They must also possess the following skill set essential for this position:

Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with various levels within the organization, including executive management, business areas and IT technical functions. Strong organization, prioritization, analytical, knowledge of various networking protocols and their usage with the ability to work well with and coordinate other employees problem-solving skills. Must have technical and business knowledge of EDI fundamentals and standards.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The job responsibilities of an EDI Coordinator include supervising the efficient workings of the electronic data interchange. Along with this they are also responsible for undertaking various other duties as follows:

  • Provide recommendations for resolution of production problems.
  • Prepare required documentation before implementing software applications.
  • Understand and create the process flows which relate to the business system.
  • Developing and executing various test plans which would further demonstrate the proficient usage of a project life cycle.
  • Meet deadlines for the assigned tasks.
  • Deliver training sessions.
  • Verify and test all new EDI mappings with vendor prior to implementing in production.
  • Monitor EDI transactions and transmissions for successful validation.
  • Learn new tools and processes as required.
  • Conduct business according to the defined standards and policies.
  • Adhere to the corporate security policies.
  • Provide on-call technical support.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least a high school diploma, an associate’s degree and /or training in IT or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of X12, XML, and Edifact standards and data mapping required.
  • Experience in the management of EDI transactions and their function within the business ERP system.
  • Excellent analytical thinking ability and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to be trained and learn quickly.
  • Willingness and ability to work with limited supervision in independent and team environments.
  • Must be capable of handling multiple tasks at one time.
