Job Description Grade:

The part-time Sourcing Coordinator position is responsible for the conversion of non-contracted bid items to documented pricing program within their categories, as well as for performing  activities within their spend categories.  This role will interact regularly with members of the Purchasing, Program Management, Strategic Sourcing, internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure the efficient purchase of products. The Coordinator must demonstrate an understanding for the assigned spend categories, supplier landscape, internal stakeholders needs and purchase order management. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices and procedures. 

  • Convert historical non-contracted bid items to ongoing pricing programs.
  • Support the negotiation of the most effective pricing for converted non-contracted bid items.
  • Minimize procurement related business disruptions to end-customers.
  • Partner with requesting departments to assist in specification development, which may include shared research responsibilities or sampling requests and tracking.
  • Support electronic filing system and methods of documentation of purchasing activity to enable and satisfy an audit/inspection or industry regulating standards.
  • Participate in continuous training required to keep team apprised of business situations as they affect Procurement policy.
  • Perform other job related duties as requested.
  • Required:

  • At least 1 year of previous work experience in a related area.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms. 
  • Preferred:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Working knowledge of hospitality and/or casino operations.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
