The Head of Strategic Planning and Initiatives will be responsible for leading the transformation of M&T’s Retail Bank operating model to drive customer growth, deepen customer relationships, and improve customer engagement.
Responsible for the Retail Bank’s strategic roadmap and working with key stake holders to prioritize investments that deliver desired outcomes.
Sets and measures progress on business performance targets.
Develops strategies to increase customer adoption of self-service technologies and capabilities.
Lead the development and execution of customer segmentation and target segment strategies for the Retail Bank by partnering with Marketing, Product Management, and Sales Management.
Guide and influence product development, sales strategies, marketing messages and tactics, and distribution strategy to achieve desired outcomes in target customer growth, deeper customer relationships, and customer experience.
Responsible for improving our capabilities across all banking channels to deliver improved customer experience and better sales and service efficiency.
Responsible for the design of end-to-end banking journeys that deliver an exceptional customer experience and result in customer growth and engagement. Partner with key stakeholders to implement journeys.
Provide leadership, direction, and resources to cross-functional teams working in agile development to redesign customer journeys.
Responsible for evaluating and recommending strategic partnerships with outside firms (i.e. fintech companies) to improve the Retail Bank’s sales and service capabilities.
Sets strategic direction for long-term change management and gains consensus across the organization and at all levels to accomplish change.
Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. Complete other related duties as assigned. Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations. NATURE AND SCOPE: Advises on and sets organizational strategy for the entire Retail network and product set.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 12 years banking experience Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint Candidate must have strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication, leadership and project management skills IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Master’s Degree Previous experience leading retail banking transformation Able to present to and influence executive management Able to interact with all levels of personnel
