Job Description

BMC Mattress Sales Associates will engage our customers to provide excellent service while marketing and selling to build and develop our BMC Mattress brand. Our Sales Associates’ passion for BMC products, commitment to building long-term customer relationships, and desire to build collaborative channel relationships set us apart.

Our Sales Associates sell through inspiration, gain information by building relationships with the customer, and are skilled at asking customers the right questions. They listen intently and give the customer the confident they need to make the best product decision.

Our Sales Associates bring a diverse set of life experiences to the role. While we welcome the opportunity to consider those individuals that have a traditional retail sales background, we are open to considering other backgrounds and experiences. Individuals with backgrounds in consultative selling environment would transition well into this role.

  1. Demonstrate enthusiasm and interest for providing exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming and educational experience.

Job Requirements

Required Skills

  • Strong ability to connect with customers, build trust, and foster relationships.
  • Flexibility in work schedule reflecting the needs and patterns of store hours.
  • Familiarity with current retail software/computer systems, or the ability to learn those skills.
  • Ability to recommend and up-sell products.
  • Ability to develop interpersonal skills and capabilities through on-going training, as provided by the company.

Education and Experience (May have equivalent combination of education and experience)

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years retail sales experience in a similar or like industry.

Physical/Sensory Functions

Regularly stands, walks, reaches, talks/listens, use hands. Occasionally sits, stoop/kneel. Frequently lifts/moves 75+ pounds.

Business travel will be required as needed to visit store locations and likely will be in the 25% range.

Additional Compensation

Hourly base pay plus commission based on individual monthly sales based off of store goals.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with hours of operations consisting of 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday to Saturday, and 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Sunday. Working at least 32 hours a week with availability to work on weekends is a requirement of this position.
