Job Description Job Description BAE Systems is seeking an exceptional software subject matter expert to support the Air Force’s next generation InterContinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system acquisition. Our customer is the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Program Office located at Hill AFB, north of Salt Lake City, Utah. This will be a long term project with the weapon system anticipated to remain operational until 2075.We are seeking an experienced software SME with a willingness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment. They must possess high energy and a strong motivation to make a difference. They must be comfortable working with changing priorities. The ability to switch tasks with minimal disruption is a must. This position will: Directly support the ICBM Systems Engineering (SE) Product Team (IPT) as they develop software needs for the next generation ICBM. Duties will include providing expert advice and support to GBSD SE leaders on all aspects software throughout the acquisition cycle. Specifically, this BAE Systems team member will be responsible for supporting the government customer in the creation, review, and assessment of documents, architecture, and Model Based System Engineering proposals in order to meet GBSD acquisition requirements and timelines. The position is being filled as a part of the Future ICBM Sustainment and Acquisition Construct (FISAC) under which BAE Systems augments organic government resources by providing breadth and depth of capabilities for system engineering and integration, risk management, technical assessment, acquisition program management, strategy development, organization and change management, interface with operations and logistics, business analysis, mission effectiveness. Work on the SE team and with other integrated product teams to assess the impacts of vulnerabilities, develop and implement mitigation plans, and document all findings. Our team will work in an environment intended to mitigate technical risks of new architectures by modeling, developing, evaluating, and testing new systems and components. Our team includes existing staff with extensive expertise in the current Minuteman III weapon system, and actively participates in ongoing studies and assessments for this next generation system.Analyze GBSD software programs for compatibility, Commercial off the Shelf (COTS)/Government off the Shelf (GOTS) and modified COTS/GOTS application, technology maturation/risks, software consistency and maintainability, data handling, timing rates, flexibility, licensing issues, plug-n-play, security risks.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify, test, validate, and recommend software-associated options; assist in Technical Maturation and Risk Reduction.Work with SE staff to draft test requirements, plans, set up and execute tests, and perform analysis of software performance.Typical Education & Experience Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experienceRequired Skills and Education

BS/MS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technologies, Data Processing, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics. Minimum Experience 12 years with BS, 10 years with MS. At least 6 years progressive responsibility in providing technical leadershipMust be current or eligible for a Top Secret security clearance

Preferred Skills and Education

DoD acquisition experience/accreditation or equivalent.Experience in Systems Security Engineering (SSE).Experience with integrating requirements into existing acquisition lifecycle phases, milestones, and deliverables using systems engineering principles and methodologies.Knowledge of engineering management, project management, logistics management, production management, engineering processes, language & databases, software architecture & design, and software development tools.Able to lead activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, interfaces and designs for software systems.Experience in ICBM command and control (C2) or similar strategic systems.Prior experience working with Department of Energy and National Security Agency requirements.Prior experience working with classified systems.Current Security clearance.
