Job Description Are you an M.D. or D.O. with experience in Neurology, Orthopedics, Occupational Medicine, or Physiatry looking to enjoy more spare time? Step out of the clinic and achieve work-life balance with a stable insurance company as the Corporate Medical Director. This full-time position allows you the freedom to create your schedule in conjunction with management while still continuing (if you desire) your outside practice part-time. The Medical Director for Great West will utilize their medical expertise to function as a medical resource for liability and workers' compensation claims team members. This person will act as an advisor to Nurse Case Managers and Adjusters relative to causation, treatment, unidentified medical issues, and costs associated with claims. The incumbent will review files for issues or concerns to be considered in investigation and settlement of claims. Additionally, they will provide direct and indirect training on medical issues for Nurse Case Managers and Claims Adjusters. Qualifications
  • M.D. or D.O. with clinical experience in Neurology, Orthopedics, Occupational Medicine, or Physiatry.
  • Licensed, or the ability to become licensed, in the state of Nebraska.
  • Experience reviewing insurance claims preferred but not required.
  • Experience as an attending physician or other academic role is a plus.
  • Interest and willingness to learn about property casualty insurance for the motor carrier industry.
  • Limited travel (10-15%) to Great West offices throughout the United States.
