Specialty: Cardiology

Practice Scope: Provide quality cardiac services in an inpatient facility setting under the general direction of collaborating on call SAMG physicians.

Practice model: Employment

Status & Schedule: Temporary, up to three or four ten hour shifts per week. Mon - Sun 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Rotation with second APP.

Requirements:

Licensed as an advanced practice professional nurse (APPN/ANP-BC) and be certified as a Nurse Practitioner or certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). Meet the medical center's customer service standards including interpersonal communication and professional conduct expectations. Demonstrate knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (adult and geriatric as applicable). Previous advance practice provider experience in cardiac disease management or chronic care management preferred. Comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills and problem solving abilities. In collaboration with practice physicians ensure provision of appropriate services to clients. Provide follow-up consultations/support as needed. Assist in creating educational materials and resources. Participate in the development and patient flow of all services provided.

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, Boise and Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) seek a cardiac Advanced Practice Provider genuinely interested in cardiovascular disease and a patient centered approach to inpatient care to be provided in the Cardiac Care Unit and Clinical Decision Unit setting with a commitment to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care. Primary responsibilities will include:

Hospital:
  • Prep & Recovery of cath/EP lab patients (CVOU)
  • Chest Pain & Arrhythmia Observation patients (CDU)
  • ER - initial patient work up
  • Pre-admission work up
  • Admission orders
  • Pre-procedure orders
  • Discharge planning
  • Daily rounding support
  • Supervision of Stress Echo/Nuclear Stress testing
  • Procedure support

    The Advanced Practice Provider in this role will have the opportunity to establish an inpatient focus to their practice. The primary role of this provider would be to provide support for the cardiologist on call during the week and on the weekend. This would include performing stress tests, placing orders, rounding on and timely discharge of patients from the hospital. The intent is that patient care would be more opportune and compassionate through enhanced coverage and attentiveness effectively extending the reach and impact of the physicians by proxy.

    Requirements include a strong cardiac clinical background and a desire to develop a practice to support a growing multi-specialty medical group. The candidate would be working in a world class facility and in a collegial environment with physicians and other advanced practice provider peers.
