Current Need

The Business Development Executive (BDE) role is a field based position targeting larger account segments within physician owned Ophthalmology Market. The BDE is responsible for achieving financial goals by acquiring new business. The BDE also ensures successful on-boarding of new customers, managing those customers during a defined period, and successfully transitioning to account management. The job incumbent's mission is to close new business through development and implementation of targeted sales and marketing strategies selling the full suite of tools and solutions that drive efficiency, reduce costs, and generate revenue for the practice. The Business Development Executive will be expected to sell at the C-Level and provide a consultative approach, to articulate the value proposition to partnering with MSH.



Position Description

Grows Specialty Distribution market share through strategic acquisition of new business that meets or exceeds sales objectives. Collaborates with other business functions within McKesson Specialty Health and other business partners (e.g. Lynx Technology, PODIS, Clinical, Onmark) to drive integrated selling opportunities/solutions to closure.

Responsible for a successful account on-boarding of new customers and transition of business to MSPL Account Executive after a defined period.

Provides market intelligence/customer-based feedback to the MSPL team that helps position McKesson Specialty Health as a value-add business partner for the customer.

Attends and supports selected trade shows, leadership summits and training events as requested.

Coach/mentor MSPL team members on successful business winning strategies and best demonstrated practices to assist in the professional development of team and leadership skills.



Qualifications



Minimum Job Qualifications

Education/Training 4-year degree required preferably with an emphasis in sales and marketing, business management, or healthcare related field or equivalent experience in a sales position.

Business Experience 2-5 years sales experience preferably in the healthcare setting preferably within the pharmaceutical/biotech, healthcare distribution, healthcare technology or medical device/supply sales space. Consultative selling experience to the specialty physician market highly preferred. Minimum 2-year record of sales success, emphasizing development of new business.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills

  • Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel.

  • Salesforce.com or CRM software experience helpful.

  • Proven consultative selling capabilities.

  • Motivation to excel and achieve sales results.

  • Strong strategic thinking/planning and market assessment skills.

  • Financial acumen to evaluate return on investment (ROI) associated with sales opportunities.

  • Sales forecasting and pipeline management expertise.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective pre-call planning/needs assessments.

  • Capable of preparing and delivering professional sales presentations to divergent audiences.

  • Ability to identify all decision makers and gain a commitment.

  • Negotiation and closing skills to effectively to secure deals beneficial to McKesson and the customer.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and develop relationships at all organizational levels.

  • Effective account management and account transition skills.

  • Team player with strong interpersonal and resource management skills.

  • Innovative/creative approach to sales/business solutions.

  • Position is home-based with extensive travel requirements (76%+ travel).
