Job Description Job Description Seeking candidates for proposal scheduled to be released on or about 1Q 2018. BAE Systems in Middletown, RI, is seeking a full time Manufacturing Manager to oversee towed sonar array fabrication work at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center’s Division Newport. The selected candidate will be interfacing with our primary customer, the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, Rhode Island. BAE Systems is an international leader in developing and delivering advanced aerospace and defense systems for military and commercial customers in the U.S. and around the world.The selected candidate will:-Supervise the activities of manufacturing personnel in the assembly and test of productiontowed sonar array systems in accordance with quality requirements, safetyrequirements, schedules and cost requirements- Interface with engineers, managers, QA personnel, technicians andcustomer representatives to discuss project requirements-Be responsible for identifying and resolving issues to maintain production schedules-Oversee troubleshooting and diagnostic tests and procedures and evaluate results-Be required to exert physical energy such as climb ladders, lift and carry heavy objectsetc.-Be required to maintain daily log of activities for his group-Be required to initiate requisitions for materials and equipment-Be required to conduct performance appraisal’s if direct reportsTypical Education & Experience Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experienceRequired Skills and Education Typical education and years of relevant experience: Bachelor's Degree and a least 8 years of relevant/related experience or 12 years of relevant/related experience in lieu of a degree.Security clearance requirement: Active DoD Secret security clearance.Must have the following skills/experience:In-depth knowledge of Towed Array SonarsExperience working at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division NewportManagement experience in a Manufacturing Repair and Overhaul (MRO) or Navy Maintenance ActivityExperience leading a large group of employees and sub contract personnelProficiency with Microsoft Office products especially Project and Excel Preferred Skills and Education Highly desired skills/experience:Project Management Professional CertificationExperience with any of the following towed array sonars: TB-16,TB-23,TB-29, MFTA, SQS-19OSHA 40 Hour Safety CourseU.S. Navy Experience (CPO, Warrant Officer or Commissioned Officer)Experience developing various types technical documentation (Test Plans, Specifications, drawings,etc.) About BAE Systems Intelligence & Security BAE Systems Intelligence & Security, based in McLean, Virginia, designs and delivers advanced defense, intelligence, and security solutions that support the important missions of our customers.
