We are looking for model makers, manual machinists, someone who can make parts readily from sketches. We are not looking for machinists who are CNC operators. Technician interested in a small tool-room environment fabricating and modifying intricate and precise parts for complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated circuits and microchips. Primary responsibility will be to operate in safe and efficient manner, manual machine tools, CNC machine tools, miscellaneous power and hand tools, and all associated ancillary equipment for fabricating and modifying parts. Other responsibility will include maintaining a clean and organized shop, following safety guidelines, and other tasks not directly related to machine shop operations in support of projects and production operations. Experience 5 years machine shop experience required, including operation and maintenance of all standard shop tools and equipment. Applicant must have proficiency in or willingness to adopt metric measurement system. Applicant must have the ability to machine intricate and precise parts from a variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, and plastic, on typical tool-room machine tools. Have a demonstrated skill working to close tolerances from complicated drawings, sketches, engineering data and/or verbal instructions. Be proficient in planning, setup, and operation of machine tools based on work orders, drawings, machining instructions to machine parts to specifications and then conduct inspection to confirm parts meet quality standards. Self-motivated flexible team player who relies on good judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
