Liberty Mutual Surety™ is actively recruiting for a Sr. Business Analyst/Project Lead to join our Business Applications Technology team. The level will be based upon experience and influence some of the responsibilities. The successful candidate will work as a business team representative, defining and implementing business solutions through technology. This position will work cross functionally across all department areas, understanding current processes and work flows, acting as a liaison between business and IT to define, develop and implement solutions that optimize results. The grade level will be based on experience and qualifications. May construct and will follow prescribed project methodologies and processes and, adhering to strict deadlines, work closely with customers and stakeholders to understand current and preferred business process flows and requirements, as well as how information flows and changes throughout the business. Utilize this information to assist in the design of the optimal business solution and work closely with the IT development team through implementation.
Facilitate and/or support Liberty Mutual Surety projects and initiatives by gaining a detailed understanding of Surety Technology and its use, writing business requirements, and supporting IT Solutions.
Gain a thorough knowledge of department responsibilities, goals and operating standards as well as a sound understanding of the operating procedures and constraints of IT, various Surety departments, and vendors with which the unit may interact.
Track requirements through all stages of the project lifecycle; ensuring traceability.
May conceptualize immediate and long-range needs and translate those needs to a comprehensive project plan and negotiate project objectives and direction with key stakeholders and executives. May serve as a project lead and make presentations regarding project direction and recommendations as appropriate.
Coordinate and facilitate User Acceptance Testing by assisting in the development of test cases, test scripts, and monitoring the execution of test plans.
Provide planning, status updates, document control, and other general project support to the Business Project Management leaders.
Apply industry knowledge and standards and execute changes to the SBU's workflows and systems while assessing gaps with current solutions.
Effectively maintain and build relationships across various work groups.
Document and update user manuals and training guides to be used by a diverse audience and perform training as necessary.
Design, develop, and maintain user production reporting.
Special projects as assigned.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field and at least 5+ years relevant experience in business analysis, process documentation and development/implementation or comparable required. MBA highly desired.
Demonstrated knowledge of design approaches and project management (IE. SDLC or Agile).
Knowledge of Surety-based technologies and/or business processes preferred.
Self-starter and able to deal with ambiguity and frequent change; learn new concepts quickly.
Ability to work well independently as well as with a geographically dispersed team.
Ability to recognize problems, determine effective solutions, and initiate/influence and implement those solutions.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and identify potential issues while providing creative solutions.
Strong analytical skills to critically evaluate gathered information and determine impacts.
Strong organizational skills to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills (technical and non-technical)
Effective project control and organization
Superb attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills and sufficient initiative to work individually with business partners, IT, and business analysis colleagues.
Position is grade 15 or 16 based on experience.
