Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories, a nationally recognized laboratory, is searching for a Scientist to support the Professional Scientific Staffing group in the Pilot Plant/Master Seed Ops Lincoln, NE



Scientist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Clean, setup, and operate equipment (may include fermentors, downstream, bioreactors, and filling/lyophilization) in support of production processes for bacterial and viral antigens and vaccine formulations 
  • Aseptic technique associated while working in a cleanroom laboratory environment, laboratory maintenance, and cleaning; secondary gowning
  • Manage samples including ensuring proper storage and handling of samples
  • Operate automated process controllers
  • Perform data collection and analysis by using process controllers and office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Report writing

  • Write, revise, and comply with SOP’s and associated documentation

  • Operate within and maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) including GMP documentation, timecards, order requisitions, and charting

  • Clean areas according to specific SOP’s


    • •Data entry into compound database, verification and handling, record keeping, in accordance with scientific protocol, applicable Standard Operating Procedures and Good Laboratory Practices

  • Demonstrate reliability in attendance and punctuality

  • Maintain supplies as needed in the production area


    • •Work with multiple scientists within the group to effectively schedule and complete work



    The ideal candidate would possess:



    •Experience working in a Pilot Plant and Master Seed environment including equipment preparation and operation



    •Aseptic technique while working in a cleanroom environment.



    •Providing support in activities associated with bacterial and viral antigen production and vaccine formulation



    •Excellent oral and written communication skills. 



    •Computer skills required:  Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Ability to handle change (changing workloads).


    • •Good at multitasking with ability to work with deadlines



    •Self-starter, able to prioritize work and work efficiently with minimal supervision

  • Work environment: The person filling this position works in a BSL-2 laboratory.  There may be exposure to animal pathogens, chemicals, and bio hazardous materials.  There may be handling of, and/or exposure to, zoonotic organisms
  • Ability to work flexible hours including work week, weekend, holiday, and overtime
  •  


    • Basic Minimum Qualifications:



    •Bachelor's degree in chemistry, microbiology, process engineering, biochemistry or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major)



    •At least one year of laboratory experience



    •Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship



    Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed.  Candidates residing in Lincoln, NE are encouraged to apply.
