Job Description Are you a Senior DBA looking for new and exciting opportunities? Do you want to utilize your years of experience in a SQL Server environment? We have a client who is currently looking for you! The position will provide technical leadership of Iowa's data environment including data warehouse, business intelligence and operational database environments.Responsibilities cross multiple disciplines and will support continued maturity of the clients warehouse environment through the design, implementation and ongoing maintenance of database constructs within a SQL Server environment as well as include the maintenance and oversight of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM database instance.This position sits in the Des Moines, Iowa area.Over 60 years of unwavering focus on the issues of workforce management have gained us a reputation of being one of the most knowledgeable and accomplished strategic workforce partners in business for clients and candidates alike.
Job Requirements- Provide leadership in the design, development and implementation of a SQL Server data warehouse and ongoing operational database responsibilities of a Microsoft Dynamics/CRM operational database.• Create and enhance a sound infrastructure for analysis and reporting through the continued development of the Business Objects environment, knowledge of the enterprise data and data warehouse best practices.• Work with business stakeholders to define business requirements and ensure warehouse models are effectively created and maintained. Includes management of logical and physical modeling efforts and execution of those models through table creation and maintenance.• Responsible for maintaining overall data integrity through pro active best practices such as database monitoring, performance tuning/optimization and ongoing maintenance of database implementations. Troubleshoot and resolve data model, database query, database system, authorization and security issues, recovery/rollback, ETL issues, etc.• Maintain a thorough understanding of the data flows and mapping between multiple source systems to the data warehouse, including administering the extraction, transformation and load (ETL) processes.• Care and maintenance of SQL Server system patches/installs and ensuring system is up to date.• Perform database storage and capacity planning.• Development and/or oversight of corporate data strategy, architecture, data management standards and conventions.• Selection of tool(s) that assist in the ongoing care of database and database environments.• A minimum of 7 - 10 years Data Warehouse DBA experience preferably in a SQL Server environment.• Strong working knowledge of logical and physical data modeling, data mapping, stored procedure and database administration experience required.• Data warehouse and business intelligence experience required, preferably with Business Objects/SAP.• Demonstrated understanding and ability using SQL and exposure to Excel, Access or other related database software and applications.• Demonstrated ability to multi-task responsibilities, work in a project-oriented environment and on-call responsibilities as needed.• Insurance industry experience is preferred.• Perform other technical duties as assigned.• Provide on-call support when necessary.Volt is an Equal Opportunity Employer
