Job Description Responsibilities: Our client is seeking a IT Senior Project Manager in Detroit, Michigan (MI).The IT Senior Project Manager (PM) has the end to end responsibility for the success of the critical global IT projects that will evolve and transform GM's business processes and capabilities. This empowered role includes management of the IT project lifecycle from definition to deployment, made possible through engagement with senior GM leaders, cross-functional stakeholders, and development teams. The IT Senior Project Manager will also be expected to manage other project managers, in addition to specific projects.A successful IT Project Manager is a leader that naturally accepts ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. The IT Project Manager will be able to achieve traditional operational objectives through effective team management and a 'can-do' approach.
Job RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:
  • At least 7 years of IT project management experience; leveraging different software development methodologies
  • Strong experience interacting with business customers and managing expectations
  • Experience in measuring project success factors with respect to cost, schedule, and quality
  • Practical experience with requirements and test case development
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline
  • Proven work experience working as a Project Manager with a successful project delivery record in custom development and COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) applications
  • Experience in managing projects leveraging different software development methodologies
  • Experience managing projects in multiple disciplines (manufacturing, finance, sales, etc.)
