Job Description Job Classification: Direct Hire Aerotek is looking for a Mechanical / Industrial Estimator for a client in the Lenexa area. Job Duties: 1. Estimating Projects a. Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists. b. Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, and organizing 2. Process Improvement a. Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions. b. Organizes and manages a centralized cost estimating database and a formal process to support cost estimating to ensure historical data is utilized 3. Managerial Teamwork a. Establishes and maintains a collaborative working relationship with the Construction and Service Divisions’ staffs by providing timely, accurate, and complete information and by answering questions and requests. b. As directed, establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and/or vendors to include providing them timely, accurate and complete information. Qualifications: - Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree (BS) in a construction related discipline, or at least five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. - Experience: Five or more years of direct significant experience estimating mechanical industrial construction projects. In addition to experience estimating industrial piping and plumbing systems, HVAC system knowledge and estimating experience of HVAC systems is a plus. - Knowledge: Understanding of MCA labor units is a plus.
