Payroll Analyst - This role is a Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (8 hour shifts) overtime may be required; paying $16.50 - 17.00/ per hour depending on experience

Corestaff Services is seeking a Payroll Analyst located in Louisville, KY. The Payroll Operations Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day execution of payroll tasks to establish and maintain accurate employee and payroll records, execute payroll processing production, and ultimately produce accurate and timely payroll payments to employees. The Payroll Operations Analyst is responsible for closely following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and company policies at all times to ensure company compliance and minimize risk. This position requires basic to intermediate knowledge of company policies and procedures, federal, state/provincial and local payroll tax law and employment regulations. The position requires excellent client service skills, close attention to detail, excellent communication skills, advanced interpersonal skills and a dedication to teamwork as well as process improvement identification and implementation.


  • Audits/processing withholding tax set up and changes for employee using W-4 and multi-state tax withholding information while ensuring proper set up in employee’s tax jurisdictions using payroll software,
  • Audit of employee data to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws including FLSA, FMLA, and SOX governance,
  • Audit new hires, rehires, and transfers entered into the payroll system for accuracy,
  • Update earnings, taxes, and voluntary and involuntary deductions for appropriate payroll cycle(s) by data entry into HRMS system (i.e. PeopleSoft Pay Line, Additional Pay, Tax Instructions and Distribution, Job Data, and General Deductions).
  • Closely follow documentation and assist in maintaining Payroll Operations Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure day-to-day maintenance through maker/checker and leveraging Service Now queue.
  • Ensure day-to-day maintenance through peer review and leveraging Service Now queue.
  • Utilize data and reporting from work management tools (i.e. ServiceNow) to ensure that Service Level Agreements are met or exceeded, by providing timely service and quality problem resolution each and every time.
  • Communicate effectively with teams across HRSS to ensure customer service SLAs are met and/or exceeded.

  • Associate Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years payroll processing experience required
  • Basic to intermediate payroll law and payroll production knowledge required
  • Requires strong communication (written & oral), organization, and customer service skills
  • Requires strong computer and analytical skills in a Windows based environment – including Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Strong knowledge of HRMS (i.e. PeopleSoft) and case management software (i.e. ServiceNow) preferred
  • Payroll Certification desired but not required (FPC)
