Job Description

Our Corporate Office in Waukesha, WI is seeking a Design Engineer for our Air Cooled Engines Division.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designs components and subsystems for industrial air cooled engines.
  • Creates models, drawings, sub assemblies and specifications in support of engine programs.
  • Performs analysis of components to ensure proper function.
  • Participates in the product definition from scope of work to detailed specification.
  • Provides support for design related activities generated by warranty, development and test, purchasing and manufacturing.
  • It is a major participant in establishing the component manufacturing path to achieve cost, quality and delivery.
  • Facilitates the completion and release of the engineering documentation created for related projects.
  • Documents all calculations and analysis performed.
  • Participates in DFMEA and PFMEA activities.
  • Works closely with the development and test resources to follow the validation status of the components and systems designed.
  • Collaborates closely with purchasing and quality to ensure the specification of the components is met. Interfaces with the supplier to implement their input in the final component design.
  • Participates in the definition of applications (and limitation) for a specific engine and the interface design.
  • Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering with min 3 years of design experience
  • Pro E experience with modeling (or similar program)
  • Internal combustion engine design and development experience preferred.
  • Experience with GD&T and stack up of tolerances.
  • Great communication skills verbal and written.
  • Great ability to work in a dynamic environment and strong tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Knowledgeable in manufacturing techniques like casting (die cast and permanent mold), Cast Iron casting, forging, stamping, machining, etc
