The Role
The JPMorgan 'Morcom' and 'Morgan Markets' web portals provide a rich set of tools used by our clients to transfer funds, view and respond to corporate actions, vote proxies, move securities and exercise their option positions.  Application developers for this product suite are responsible for delivering ongoing enhancements and diagnosing production issues.  In addition, the bank is undergoing a multi-year program to consolidate multiple legacy back office system onto new platforms that will require a significant re-engineering of these applications.
 
Core technologies in use include Java, Spring, HTML/JavaScript and the ExtJs framework.  Our systems currently use a DB2 database that will be migrated to Oracle.  The team is moving quickly toward a lean agile development methodology using Scrum.  Experience with Scrum, automating testing and knowledge of Financial applications is plus.
Job Requirements•         Relevant university degree, specialized training or equivalent work experience
•         Minimum  5-8+ years of application development experience
•         Proficiency with Core Java J2EE, Servlet/JSP
•         Experience with Spring
•         Proficiency with web development (HTML, Javascript, CSS, Ajax)
•         Proficiency with at least one Javascript Framework (Ext JS preferred, otherwise jQuery, , YUI! ,  Dojo or similar)
•         Proficiency with Model View Controller (MVC) pattern
•         Proficiency with Development Tools (e.g. Eclipse, Maven, Hudson)
•         Proficiency with RDBMS, JDBC, SQL queries
•         Proficiency with Tomcat and Apache
•         Experience with Web Services and RPC with XML and JSON
•         Experience with full SDLC lifecycle
•         Exposure/ competence with Agile/Iterative Development methodology
•         Automated Build and Deploy Skills, and Test Driven Development
