Job Description

Summary of PositionMember of the location leadership team. This individual will manage the following functional areas: Purchasing, Scheduling and Receiving. This individual will be responsible for ensuring materials are available and production is scheduled to meet customer demands in the most cost effective manner. This individual will also be responsible for tracking and reporting material, manufacturing and waste costs, and supporting the month end financial close process. Bill of material, inventory consumption and material cycle counting and physical inventories will be analyzed and reviewed by this position. Performance of lean activities and cost savings projects will be initiated and executed by this position. Budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis will be required to support the requirements of location management. In addition, this individual will administer and analyze purchasing, scheduling and receiving functions for proper adherence to SOX documentation. Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for all purchasing, scheduling and receiving activities for the location, to include supervision of these departments and all associated personnel.

• Analyze and review material purchasing/costing accuracy and manufacturing waste.

• Analyze and review inventory management, transfers and cycle counting.

• Generate purchase orders as required by Bill of Materials, stock supply on hand and inventory count.

• Schedule production, load level and create special configuration products.

• Process discrepant material reports and debit memos as required and/or requested.

• Research vendors and suppliers and their respective pricing to ensure Milgard is getting optimum value.

• Prepares, reviews, and distributes daily reports.

• Research all backorder stock out issues and expedite product as necessary.

• Initiate and execute lean projects to improve customer service levels and increase efficiencies.

• Initiate and execute cost savings activities.

• Fulfill all month end requirements including preparation, close, and post analysis.

• Evaluate and report on supplier performance.

• Participates in the location Leadership Program.

• Create and execute MPS objectives; meet MPS commitments and work within the guidelines of MPS; reflect Milgard business values and the Milgard Philosophy in all business interactions.

• Incorporates Milgard’s vision and values into day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to the Milgard philosophy.

• Adhere to safety policies and procedures related to all facets of the job

Experience

• 3 or more years in purchasing/procurement required

• Scheduling/planning in manufacturing environment preferred

• 2 or more years inventory management required

• 2 or more years supervision of multiple departments required

• Experience with performance management systems

Education/Licenses/Certifications/Formal Training

• High school diploma

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred

• Purchasing/Scheduling Certificates preferred

• APICS certified preferred

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged standing and repetitive motions, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling

Work Environment

• Work performed indoors/outdoors with multiple daily interruptions.
