Classification: Accounting Supervisor/Manager
Compensation: $55,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year
Cost Accounting Manager- Located in beautiful Helena, MontanaOur client company is looking to grow the existing well established team and will be adding a cost accounting manager. This position will direct and maintain integrity of all accounting functions and tasks used to generate accurate data for management of the corporation by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate personnel. Year-end audit and all tasks of the accounting department within the guidelines of corporate policy.Review tax returns and prepare various other forms required by State and Federal agencies. Publish timely, accurate, reliable, monthly financial statement to management of the corporation. Work with the Company's Cost Accounting Staff in other divisions to ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close.This involves monitoring all subsystems interfaced with trial balance to ensure accuracy of data. Prepare and transmit all required quarterly compliance reports to outside agencies. Coordinate weekly/monthly physical inventory count and supervise tallying of the count. Prepare weekly cost reports. Responsible for existing accounting functions and development of new procedures to ensure accuracy and timeliness of data. Sign checks and transfers funds as necessary to meet obligations as they become due including but not limited to margin calls, commissions and raw material purchases. Initiates electronic fund transfers when required. Supervise cash management, borrow against line of credit as required and insure payment of outstanding loans. Assist as required with operations of corporate hedging program within policy guidelines. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises employees in the accounting department and their responsibilities which include staff accountants from other divisions. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. OR B.A.) Business Administration/Accounting with five plus years exposure to manufacturing departments/staff, financial reporting/general ledger area, cost accounting, reporting, and variance analysis. Strong interpersonal, supervisory skills, and ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
