Bring your leadership to the following key role:

  • Lead the sales force to achieve new sales goals and company profitability
  • Ensure that sales executives are assigned by a geographic area or broker assignment
  • Establish and maintain group and broker relationships
  • Combine your degree and sales management experience with the following skills and abilities:

  • Undergraduate Degree in marketing, business, or related field
  • 5 years’ experience with group or individual health sales and 3 years’ experience in customer service position or Medicare related field preferred; May substitute equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Must be currently licensed, or must become licensed within 60 days of hire, to sell insurance (health, life, and/or disability) in the state or states where business is conducted
  • Sales / Customer Service Experience
  • Advanced sales management skills (account coverage, account strategies, forecasting, goal-setting, performance management, coaching)
  • Ability to manage a sales team to generate new business leads by cold calling, entertaining prospects, invitations to seminars, etc…
  • Demonstrated sales and marketing financial analysis skills (pricing, margins, probability analysis)
  • Demonstrated competitive intelligence gathering skills
  • Successfully manage more complex and difficult negotiations with both internal and external customers; Assist others in complex negotiations
  • Consistent focus on achieving or surpassing results against an internal or external standard of excellence; Show a passion for continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated personal motivation, energy, creativity and adaptability while pursuing goals
  • Develop strong customer and broker relationships to support staff in negotiations of new business opportunities
  • Consider the department's priorities when making decisions or analyzing costs and benefits of various solutions
  • Understand the impact of own actions and decisions on other parts of the organization
  • Determine overall new sales goals and priorities for time and resource allocation of team
  • Anticipate short and long-term resource allocation challenges and develops appropriate contingency plans
  • Continuously look for new and/or non-traditional ideas, approaches and available resources to improve problem solving
  • Re-balance workload of team to reflect changing customer needs and other business requirements as necessary
  • Develop intense relationships within the organization (i.e., healthcare services, customer service, underwriting, communications) to assist team in understanding and utilizing the resources available and to encourage growth and member retention
  • Financial Management

  • Comprehensive understanding of local, regional, and national markets and pricing trends…
  • Ensure compliance with price, sales and expense budgets for self and team
  • Working knowledge of Regence systems such as claims payment and billing systems by directing Sales Assistants to retrieve and/or input system data
  • Basic skill using desktop application software including email, word processing and spreadsheet programs by creating, editing, formatting, and printing basic documents
  • Look for and create opportunities for mutual gains (win-win)
