Job Description Classification:  Payroll Supervisor/Mgr/Dir

Compensation:  $50,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year

A payroll outsourcing company in the Denver Tech Center area is looking for a payroll manager. They are looking for someone who Maintains payroll information by gathering data; directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data. Updates payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job titles, and department/ division transfers. Pays employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts. Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages. Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments. Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies. Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests from our clients. Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures. Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential. Completes operational requirements by workloads and assigns employees; following up on work results. Maintains payroll staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related projects as needed.
Job RequirementsKnowledge/Skills: Problem-solving and negotiation skills. Must have the ability to drive results. Demonstrate expertise in building and managing relationships. Extensive knowledge payroll. Advanced skills in Payroll Software and HRIS Systems required. Skills in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.) required. Excellent Organizational Skills. Communication Writes and speaks clearly, informatively and persuasively; adapts style to meet needs, listens and seeks clarification. Responds well to questions, demonstrates group presentation skills and participates in meetings. Customer Service Effectively manages emotional or difficult customer situations, responds promptly to customer needs, solicits customer feedback to improve service, responds to request for service and assistance, and meets commitments. Teamwork exhibits objectivity and openness to others views, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to building a positive team spirit, puts success of team above own interest.Education and Experience: Minimum 5 years Payroll experience required. 3-5 years supervisory experience. Prior PEO experience preferred or experience in a multi-site entities Bachelors from an accredited college or university preferred; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
