Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Senior Financial Analyst provides financial and analytical support to budget managers within the Neurology area of the business. This position serves as the financial business partner, providing accurate, clear, and timely support to help drive well-informed business decisions

Key activities include: review and analysis of monthly expenses, budgeting and forecasting activities, business partnering, and ad hoc requests from management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Financial Analysis and Reporting - Prepares comparative monthly financial reporting package for budget managers, ensures accuracy of financial results by investigating variances, partners with budget managers to review results and discuss any upcoming challenges, develops commentary on significant variances for inclusion in the monthly reporting submission for the U.S. business.
  • Budgeting and Planning Activities - Coordinates efforts with budget managers to develop detailed cost center and promotional budgets and forecasts.
  • Procurement Support - Validates requisitions against business requirements, confirms proper expense coding, ensures compliance with policies and provides training to assigned areas of the business.
  • Monthly Accruals - Works with category expense leads to develop accurate and timely accrual entries.
  • Process Improvement - Helps identify and lead process improvement initiatives
  • REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA) in Accounting or Finance; or related equivalent
  • 5+ years of Finance/Accounting progressive experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and perform under pressure
  • Strong analytical skills
  • SAP experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Business Intelligence skills and understanding
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with Financial reporting / query tools
