Job Description
Responsibilities: A Kforce client is seeking a Senior Oracle DBA in Detroit, Michigan (MI).The Oracle DBA will support application development project teams by developing and maintaining the required databases according to corporate standards. This role is responsible for all aspects of database management including schema design, performance tuning, code quality, optimization of algorithms and queries, backup and recovery, proper logging levels, and providing test results consistent to support production implementations. The Oracle DBA will need to enforce Master Data Management (MDM) strategies. The Oracle DBA will work closely with the Enterprise Data Architects to ensure alignment with target business and data architecture goals of the enterprise, while providing input on enterprise data warehouse strategies, design and data standards.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelors of Science degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
Minimum 2-3 years of enterprise operational experience and knowledge of maintaining databases in Windows or Linux OS
Knowledge on how to support very large databases with heavy online and batch activities
Expertise in Oracle Database monitoring, tuning, and upgrades
Expertise using data architecture support tools (ERwin, Data Dictionary Tools - IBM InfoSphere, etc.)
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Oracle DBA Certification is preferred (Oracle Certified Associate)
Experience working in an Agile (Scrum), and/or Iterative Development Methodology
Preferred experience and familiarity with IT Best Practices (CMMI, ISO9000, ITIL, and COBIT)
