Job Description
POSITION PURPOSEDistrict Investigators (DIs) are responsible for ensuring that Asset Protection programs are being executed within their district. Key responsibilities include analyzing and managing District Shrink and Safety performance, partnering with District and Store Managers, monitoring Safety, Shrink, and operational audits, conducting store walks, reviewing exception reports, driving theft and fraud mitigation strategies and managing the Asset Protection Managers (APMs) and Asset Protection Supervisors (APSs) in their district. DIs are responsible for managing and developing, as well as, providing critical direction related to the development and implementation of Asset Protection procedures, to the store-level AP associates in their district. DIs must be able to handle multiple projects and gain the cooperation and buy-in of District and Store management to achieve goals. The DI must remain focused on managing and addressing all District-specific business objectives, while ensuring that key AP responsibilities are fulfilled.MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  •  Responsible for hiring, training, evaluating, mentoring, and accountability of Asset Protection Managers and Asset Protection Specialists. 
  •   Manage Asset Protection processes within assigned District to include: shrink, safety, regulatory compliance, investigations, apprehensions, case management, CCTV exceptions/ alerts, P&Ls, walks & process reviews, and pilot programs/proof of concepts, and develop specific action items to mitigate deficiencies and ensure execution of objectives. 
  •  Responsible for regularly scheduled visits and communication with all direct reports; specific store visits prioritized based on individual store performance measurements; review of all roles/routines and components of core AP programs.
  • Communicate and follow-up with district business partners to include reviewing progress related to the timely execution of game plans; conduct stores walks and participate in district business walks to monitor identified deficient areas; 
  • Review and analyze Region and store shrink and safety performance; identify Region- and District-specific trends; utilize walk and visit results to develop game plan to address deficiencies.NATURE AND SCOPEThis position reports to the Sr District InvestigatorAccountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others.ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS-

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Age: 18Must pass Background Check.EDUCATION REQUIREDThe knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job. YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 5PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS -Experience leading teams in a multi unit retail or manufacturing environment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS2+ Years Asset Protection management.Investigative interview trainingHandling Hazerdous Material safety trainingSupervisory experience preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIESKnowledge of retail Asset Protection, Loss Prevention and Safety processes, programs and procedures.Ability to work cross-functionally to identify solutions to mitigate shrink, theft, and fraud and create safe workenvironmentsHighly developed interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive and controversial issuesStrong analytical skills.Highly developed communication skills, both written and oral.
