Business Unit
The position is located at our Elastomer Coupling Facility in New Berlin, WI and would report to the Plant Manager.
This driven, results-oriented Value Stream Manager will direct the manufacturing and maintenance operations for 4 value streams within our Elastomer Business. Primary function is to maintain world class safety standards while meeting internal and external customer requirements for on-time delivery and quality as well as controlling costs. The VSM is overall responsible for plant SQDC metrics and must work in conjunction with customer care, engineering, material planners and other departments to assure these metrics are met. Manage lead personnel, production and overtime schedules. Evaluate employee performance, recommend areas for improvement, and make decisions involving employment, salaries and discipline. Use root cause analysis, ‘5 why’ process, and Standard Work to eliminate waste. Champion use of Lean tools through involvement in kaizens, TAE initiatives and other process improvement activities.
Key Accountabilities

Apply lean and six sigma tools and methods within operations environment to reduce process variation, improve quality and eliminate waste.
Forecast and manage cost associated with manufacturing and maintenance operations.
Use internal and external Voice Of Customer (VOC) to analyze/improve processes and apply root cause problem solving methods to all functions.
Maximize Total Associate Engagement through inspirational leadership and open and direct two way communication with your workforce.
Apply Standard Work and create Standard Operating Procedures for Operations/Maintenance related processes.
Ensure that all team personnel are adequately trained, supplied, resourced and managed to accomplish strategic objectives.
Deploy key performance objectives to employees via Performance Ownership process and Daily Management.
Investigate personnel concerns. Document and recommend disciplinary action to Human Resources.
Write performance evaluations for staff; recognize and develop internal talent.
Work closely with supply chain personnel to ensure timely delivery of product to our customers.
Work closely with internal Quality associates. Request 5-why root cause analysis from responsible parties and document countermeasures.
Seek out improvement opportunities and work under minimal supervision to achieve results and process improvements.
Manage the hourly shop floor associates’ timecards including tracking time and attendance in ADP software system.
Advocate safe working practices and perform safety audits; complete safety investigations as needed.
Manage the department to SQDC metrics.
Use RBS (Rexnord Business Systems) to drive continuous improvement: lead and facilitate kaizens to eliminate waste, reduce lead time, improve customer service, lower costs, design robust forecasting models, generate better output and increase productivity throughout the department and to the larger scope within all of Rexnord.

Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of five years experience in a manufacturing environment.
Must have experience in a team lead, supervisor or manager role.
Proficiency on PCs with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Capabilities and Success Factors
Must be organized and able to work with multiple jobs at one time while meeting necessary deadlines.
Previous experience managing to metrics, driving projects from creation to implementation, leading cross functional teams.
Prior experience driving action plans or owning counter measures is highly preferred.
Ability to manage a department and lead cross functional teams.
Ability to make decisions and drive them to results in a high paced business environment.
Ability to hit deadlines is a must.
Measurable continuous improvement experience desirable.
Excellent communication skills, including written, listening, and verbal skills.
Self motivated individual, able to muti-task and drive team cohesiveness effectively.
Machining background a plus
