Job Description Classification:  Accountant - Cost Compensation:  $14.25 to $16.50 per hour This position requires an estimator/cost accountant who is a high performer and is able to work independently for a small company. The cost accountant will be responsible for estimating the costs (ex: materials, labor, etc.) for large irrigation projects by using diagrams from the engineering team. The cost accountant will need a working knowledge of QuickBooks (Contractor's Edition preferred) and Excel. After an estimate has been prepared, the person will need to be able to periodically track the project's finances and prepare invoices to bill to the customers.The ideal candidate for the position of cost accountant will have job costing experience, will be able to map out and estimate a construction project, have a keen eye for detail, be knowledgeable in billing, have a construction background, have an understanding of parts and inventory, possess strong communication and time management skills and be used to working under deadlines.Minimum requirements are an AA degree and 3-5+ years of accounting experience.The position is temporary-to-full-time, working 40 hour weeks. If chosen for full-time, the candidate will be on a salary base and will be eligible for benefits after 6 months as a full-time employee.
