Job Description Sodexo is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to manage and lead the culinary department for Colorado School of Mines, a large campus in Golden, CO which includes, Resident Dining, Food Retail venues, and Catering. Unit total volume is $5 Million. If you have a creative flair & a passion for organic, sustainable dining options, we would like to speak with you! The ideal candidate will have the following preferred skills/experience:
  • Extraordinary communication skills with the ability to lead existing culinary staff to a higher level
  • Very high end catering experience in a venue of at least $1M.
  • Experience managing the culinary operations of a large scale, high volume production environment - including use of online food management systems.
  • Previous or current Sodexo experience preferred - Knowledge of Sodexo systems including FMS, Market Connection would be beneficial to position.
  • Knowledgeable and passion about sustainable practices including farm to fork and sourcing local products
  • Experience creating and costing menus including specialty menus for catered events
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP standards and experience food ordering and inventory
  • Management experience to include hiring, training and managing staff

    Designs, supervises, coordinates and participates in activities of cooks and other kitchen personnel in a medium to large account. This position is recognized as the technical expert, teacher and trainer for other chefs and cooks within the account. Selects and develops recipes and other items for clients. Develops menu, implements and trains HACCP, oversees/purchases food, establishes production levels and inventory controls, interviews and hires new chefs, manages/controls food cost issues and offer solutions, may train other chefs outside account. May cook selected items, and plan or price menus. Typically has chefs and cooks reporting to this position.

    Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree Basic Management Experience - 2 years Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.Sodexo is an EEO/AA/M/F/D/V employer.
