Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Lead our team of Vibration Technicians in supporting our mill through effective monitoring and safe work practices.
  • Ensure group expectations and goals are clearly understood amongst members
  • Encourage safe work practices with crew, peers and mill population.
  • Improve team work and communication amongst technicians and also with the rest of the mill.
  • Maintain good relations with customers
  • Develop an overall scope that reflects the mills needs concerning vibration monitoring versus the availability of our current staff.
  • Ensure the on boarding of new team members is well managed
  • Manage and track the currency on all equipment annual calibrations. 
  • Continue to support the installation of our vibration monitoring systems.
  • Pursue possible enabler improvement to better manage and schedule the technicians’ efforts.
  • Continue and improve the bearing failure analysis program.
  • Manage and track the bearing failures on the paper machines bearing tracker.
  • Implement, support and facilitate Root Cause Analyses of selected failures throughout the mill.
  • Qualifications:

  • Previous industrial manufacturing maintenance supervisory experience (required)
  • Previous Pulp Mill and Paper experience (preferred)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of both mechanical and electrical components used in an industrial environment.  Strong mechanical aptitude, mathematical proficiency, and troubleshooting skills.
  • ISO/ANST Cat III/Level II Certification (preferred)
  • Understand the capabilities of craftsmen, internal shops and external shops. 
  • Self-motivated individual with a take-charge attitude and an understanding of personnel management techniques. 
  • Understanding of activities and procedures required for efficient and quality work completion.
  • Basic understanding or the ability to learn the basic papermaking process. 
  • Strong computer skills including, but not limited to a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project. Experience with JDE is very helpful. 
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast paced production setting.
