Job Description

Development Technician - Air Cooled Engines

Our Corporate Office in Waukesha, WI is seeking a Development Technician (Technical Specialist) for our Air Cooled Engines Division.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Builds controlled prototype engine for development and validation work.
  • Inspects and documents components for controlled engine builds.
  • Conducts and documents tear downs of engines after specific tests, primarily durability.
  • Fabricates components and fixtures as required.
  • Conducts and support engine testing on dyno or in application
  • Conducts equipment diagnostics, calibration, repairs and preventive maintenance as required.
  • Instruments engines and components per specific test instructions.
  • Participates in the calibration of engines for performance and emissions.
  • Other duties as required.

    • Qualifications

    Education:

  • Associate degree in mechanical engineering or related field and minimum 5 years experience.  (Candidates with 10+ years of relevant experience will be considered)

    • Experience and Skills

  • Significant engine build experience
  • After test engine tear down
  • Advanced knowledge of engine component inspection and engine build and tear down documentation.
  • Specific engine instrumentation knowledge.
  • Engine dynamometer testing experience and understanding of data acquisition systems.
  • Engine component bench testing experience (flow bench, spring tester, camshaft profile, etc)
  • Fuel systems calibration experience
  • General fabrication skills
