Brief Description
Participate in a variety of existing product design activities including product design, technical documentation and physical testing of products to evaluate form, fit and function.  The position primarily focuses on VAVE opportunities, productivity gains and overall product quality improvements.
 
 
Key Accountabilities
•         Responsible for leading concurrent engineering projects focused on quality improvements, product changes to drive manufacturing productivity and VAVE.
•         Manage the design and development of products to fulfill the needs of internal and external customers.
•         Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing project cost estimates.
•         Research and make recommendations for design enhancements or modifications to support cost reduction and quality improvements.
•         Collaborates with department lead and to assist with application based custom products.
•         Participate and coordinate project charter and project requirement specification (PRS) reviews for gated and non-gated projects
•         Responsible for delivering products on time that meet the PRS
•         Conducts in house product performance evaluations
•         Develops and Maintains product documentation, including but not limited to Bill-Of-Materials (BOM) and configured kit information, submittals, installation instructions, and third party product listings
•         Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
•         Any other job duties as assigned; a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Job RequirementsJob Requirements
•         Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering
•         3 - 5 years experience in mechanical engineering design preferred
•         Proficient in AutoCAD Inventor and Microsoft Office Suite
