Job Description Classification:  Database Developer

Compensation:  $90,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year

A local Philadelphia company is seeking a Data Management Director. Responsibilities include managing and maintaining large database systems that support program billing and reporting requirements; recommending improvements and process enhancements to maximize database efficiencies and integrity; translating complex business logic with minimal assistance; validating business requirements of non-complex projects against the company's data assets and methodologies; adapting business requirements developed by modeling/development staff and systems engineers; developing the data database, specifications, and table and element attributes for an application; performing data analysis and application interface monitoring and maintenance using .net/.asp; and conducting quality assurance and development of test application code in a client server environment. Other responsibilities consist of understanding the business issues and ensuring that the agency has the data infrastructure to supporting these current strategies; leading all process improvement initiatives including the automation of primary processes, reviewing of existing procedures to identify inefficiencies, and responding to new client requirements; and possessing knowledge about the various Data management software platforms and the selection of the appropriate toolset for each production process. Job RequirementsThe ideal Data Management Director must have the following: A strong commitment to progressive and charitable causes is a must.Strong data management skills using SQL databases are required.Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate technical subjects.Diplomatic, professional approach toproblem solvingwhile working independently or on a team.Ability to manage several tasks and projects concurrently andprioritize workeffectively.Knowledge of large databases, strong understanding of report design and development, and solid SQL coding skills and data analysisKnowledge of optimization and automation techniques, fluent in writing stored procedures and ability to effectively work with multiple data platformsAbility to effectively communicate (written and verbal) to various teams (technical and non-technical) within the organization.Experience working independently and in a team oriented, collaborative environmentTwo-five years related experience with large databases, SQL Server and SQL report design, data analysis, and application maintenance. Above average proficiency and knowledge of SQL 2008 and SQL Server 2008BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Math or other related field of study
