Job Description Classification:  Controller - Assistant Compensation:  DOE Robert Half Management Resources is looking for experienced consultant to serve as Assistant Controller for one of our clients in Southeast Michigan. This Assistant Controller will be responsible for the following:• Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting• Keep accurate records, journal entries, reconcile accounts (monthly), close the books (year-end)• Manage cash flow and forecasting; develop log of priority payments (if cash is constrained) Provide weekly update to senior management• Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting materials and metric for the senior management.• Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee; assess any changes required; develop implementation plan and policy changes/guidelines as required• Ensure finance staff maintains financial record systems in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and Sarbanes Oxley • Implement a robust contracts management and financial management/reporting system; ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady ad support operational requirements• Upgrade and implement an appropriate system of policies, internal controls to ensure checks and balances in place between receipt of funds and disbursement of funds
