Job Description

The Lafayette Daily Advertiser and Opelousas Daily World is seeking an outstanding and motivated District Sales Manager. The District Sales Manager is responsible for managing an effective home delivery and single copy distribution system for the newspaper within an established geographical area.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the daily operation of an independent Home Delivery and Single Copy carrier force
  • Growing single copy volumes/sales
  • Locating and set up of new single copy accounts
  • Overseeing collection of receivables
  • Must be able to create route structure, recruit carriers, orient carriers and run open routes if needed during early morning hours
  • Conducting sales and integrity audits

    • Requirements

  • Ideal candidate will have newspaper delivery and route management experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college preferable
  • Proficient with computers and basic office programs including Word and Excel
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly
  • Valid driver’s license, current insurance and reliable transportation
  •  

    • Working Hours:

    Work schedule is approximately 2 am to 11 am, 5 days per week
