Job Description UTC Climate, Controls & Security is the leading provider of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, building controls and automation, and fire and security solutions. We have an excellent opportunity for a raw materials purchasing position in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing operation. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently and with the highest levels of integrity. The position reports to the local purchasing manager.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: -Lead cross functional teams for cost reduction projects by creating timelines and ensuring milestones are met by each group to attain on time and on budget project implementations-Negotiate and purchase a wide array of materials for a manufacturing, fabrication and assembly operations -Work with commodity management team in trending, forecasting, strategic planning, and negotiating contracts-Compile bid packages, managing supplier lists, monitoring supplier performance and maintaining data-Reconcile variances between Purchase Orders and invoices-Facilitate disputes between suppliers and the company, identify cost savings opportunities and monitor changing market conditions-Discuss defective or unacceptable goods/services/paperwork with appropriate parties and participate in developing corrective actions-Maintain appropriate procurement-related records, including vendor information, receiving documentation, and other pertinent information as assigned-Create and maintain departmental reports as required-Partner with engineering and other functions in support of achieving departmental goals -Use ACE tools to track and improve processes within area of responsibility

Job RequirementsEDUCATION:The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of BS degree from an accredited university with a minimum of four years related experience in a high volume manufacturing setting. QUALIFICATIONS: -Steel purchasing experience from steel mills and current contacts with steel mills is preferred-Adaptable to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy within a diverse organization-Strong verbal and written communication skills with a history of influencing multiple levels of the organization-Ability to make logical and accurate decisions using the best available information -Ability to handle multiple priorities and anticipate needs-Detail-oriented and well organized-Excellent skills in word processing, spreadsheet use and development, and integrated data base systems Other: Ideal candidates will demonstrate a desire and potential for advancement.
