Job Description
The MWH organization is driving the wet infrastructure sector globally, and we are leading the world in results-oriented management, technical engineering, and construction services to create a better world. The wet infrastructure sector we serve encompasses a variety of water-related projects and programs ranging from water supply, treatment and storage to water resources management and coastal restoration, and from design and construction of hydropower and renewable energy facilities to full environmental services.
MWH is currently looking to add a Lead/Supervisor Civil Engineer / Project Manager to support our Rocky Mountain Unit located in our Salt Lake City Office.Responsibilities of this position include:• Serving as the project manager for small to large-sized infrastructure projects for a variety of clients.• Understanding and possessing ability to communicate water and wastewater treatment and wet infrastructure design concepts, and process concepts to other staff and clients.• Leading efforts for proposals, planning, studies, budgeting, recruiting, staffing, client relations, financial management, technical management, coordination of multi-discipline engineering efforts, contractor/supplier quality control, quality assurance, subcontract management and contract administration, coordination of contractors, and contract and claims management.• Coordinating efforts with the client counterparts and ensure an ongoing positive relationship.• Supervising project engineers and staff, and subcontractors in the successful delivery of technical projects. • Participating in business development activities including the identification of client opportunities, proposal preparation, presentations, contract negotiations, amendments, change notices, and contract claims. Can demonstrate established and productive relationships with existing and prospective MWH client agencies throughout Utah.• Establishing strong, productive internal collaborative relationships with senior management.• Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies. • Work closely with the Senior Project Manager/Commercial Manager (SPM/CM) in her efforts at maximizing the long term profitability of the Business Unit. This includes being responsible for monitoring and reporting the commercial/risk position of all projects being managed, with the objective to support the Business Unit Leader (BUL) in growing the commercial acumen of all Project Managers in the BU.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering. • Professional Engineer certification, or equivalent (or ability to obtain within 12 months).• Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)• A minimum of 8 years of experience in project or project or program management and water treatment and Infrastructure project work.• Strong verbal and written communication skills and a proven talent at business development.• Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. • Working knowledge of project management systems, project scheduling, scoping, budgeting, cost analyses, resource analyses, and reporting. • Client service management skills and proposal preparation experience.• Excellent team building and communications skills required• International and domestic travel may be required. • Must demonstrate written and verbal fluency in English.*LI-BP1
