Job Description

This position is responsible for managing on campus marketing initiatives and all reporting/system set-up for The Collegiate Readership Program. It will require systems and software knowledge to create reports, analyze weekly, monthly and year-over-year sales figures, volumes and budgets for the program, implement program survey processes and procedures, generate survey results and maintain aggregate data for use by sales teams both nationally and in the field.  This position will be responsible for routinely providing trend and program information to management and sales staff. This position will handle project management responsibilities for our Collegiate Readership program and may also be assigned to strategize on company-wide special project task forces. The migration of this program to include digital content solutions for campuses requires project management on app development and content integration. This position will conduct research and assessment for Distribution and handle relationships with vendors and key partnerships for college related associations as required.

Responsibilities:

Manages Readership Program system set-up and coordinates reporting for field.      

Is primary liaison to the field to insure that standard practices and procedures are adhered to in order to launch and report upon the status of all pilot and paid programs.  Uses Crystal Reports, Champion and Enterprise reporting data to produce sales figures/volumes/budgets for education and/or collaborates with systems group to develop. Reviews and analyzes reports to confirm accuracy and clarity. Handles annual audits/business reviews. Conducts program/reporting training as needed for internal staff and field. 
 

Oversees project management/execution for Collegiate Readership initiatives.        

This includes working with Brand Marketing on collateral and marketing plans.  Once accounts are sold, this position works with National teams, clients and the field to clearly communicate program strategies, coordinate/produce required deliverables and track/report/analyze program status for all involved.   May include organizing collateral needs, monitoring client agreements, new starts tracking and processing, and vendor approvals for client. Process and coordination of other customer related projects.                                                                                                         
 

Manages research and assessment activities for Distribution initiatives.                    

Develops and implements processes to manage survey data, share pertinent trends/new studies/data with National teams and field staff and analyze metrics. Manages relationships with vendors. Serves as liaison between Distribution and Sales Research and marketing Department to ensure brand consistency/integrity.                                                     
 

Utilizes technical capabilities, and overall knowledge of  systems and processes.

These projects may include participating on special project tasks forces for Circulation, as assigned. These will include working with teams to develop digital apps and other content distribution platforms. (i.e. E-edition launches, SalesForce, SharePoint initiatives, etc.). Participates in design and building of presentations and other outbound sales resources needed by sales teams.

Reacts to change productively and handles other essential tasks as assigned.                                                                                     
 



Experience:

•            3 or more years experience in sales research/analysis and database management

•            Ability to interact with high-level management to support personnel essential.

•            Experience providing end user/customer support and technical training a plus.

•            4 year college degree in a related discipline.

Technical Skills:

This position requires strong technical and analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word required. Comprehensive knowledge of a database report writing tool, such as Seagate Crystal Reports, a must.  Experience using AS/400 operating systems, Enterprise Reporting and comfort using handheld PDA software and associated technologies (such as SNAP) desired.   Experience gathering user requirements and developing user solutions is a plus.  Ability to conduct research, and analyze and think strategically is very important.

The majority of the job will involve sitting at a desk in front of a personal computer.  The individual must also be able to move between various office locations.  The position will be based in McLean, VA.
