Position: Senior Accounting Analyst

Crucial member of the derivative accounting / finance team
Accounting knowledge: general ledger accounting and financial reporting, application of accounting principles and standards, preparation of financial statements
Knowledgeable of the energy commodity markets, IAS 39, FAS 133
Ability to help develop business strategies; understand how derivatives accounting impacts business
Perform month-end procedures by preparing financials and journal entries in accordance with IFRS / GAAP
Prepare / review reports for financial statement footnotes/disclosures in accordance with IFRS / GAAP
Consolidating comparative financial statements for various businesses (include balance sheet, income statement, cash flows, and detailed balance sheet support)
Cash Flow causal analysis for actual cash flows versus Plan for the different businesses
Responsible for the PL reconciliation meetings with Risk team
Support year-end audits (PBCs, ad-hoc support, analysis, explanations)
Interact with Finance team in reconciling accounting versus economic results
Exposure to SAP Accounting system (basic understanding of - chart of accounts, profit and cost centers, system processes, account sub-ledgers,
FX conversions - create and post journals, run account balance and account activity queries to research)

REQUIREMENTS

BBA or BS (Accounting or Finance)
CPA is preferred
Big 4 or Public Accounting is a plus
Oil & Gas, Energy experience
