Under general supervision of a Dentist in a clinical care setting, assists the dentist in providing dental treatment.

    Prepares and maintains dental instruments, supplies and equipment.
  • Collects and records patient health histories.
  • Patient management during dental procedures.
  • Instrument transfer 4 handed dentistry.
  • Dental procedure isolation techniques
  • Prepares of dental materials, cements, composite, impression materials,etc. Anticipates all of doctor’s needs
  • Routinely sets up correctly.
  • Instruments are always free of debris and properly sterilized.
  • Scans reception room for patients.
  • Assumes responsibility for the upkeep of the dental operatory and equipment.
  • Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of assigned operatories and for assigned equipment.
  • Ensure use of downtime to include clean, stocked operatories; routinely clean and stock operatory.
  • Attend and participates in staff meetings.
  • Ortho charting .
  • Prevention and management of dental medical emergencies.
  • Inventory control and management.
  • Expose and develop radiographs, routinely takes quality films few cone cuts, overlap artifacts. Always uses good radiation hygiene.
  • Take impressions for study casts, athletic mouth guards, and custom tray. Performs laboratory procedures neatly and efficiently, pours models with no bubbles, properly trim models, polishes dental prosthesis, able to make vac-u-press forms.
  • Clean and sterilize all instruments manages the dental office infection control plan to meet OSHA,CDC, and ADA,HIPPA standards.
  • Instrument cleaning, Sterilization/disinfection, and re-circulation.
  • Dental treatment room disinfection.
  • Orders dental supplies.
  • Required Skills

  • High School Diploma.
  • On the job training or Certification in Dental assisting.
  • Current CPR.
  • Registered with BORID/Radiology Certified preferred.
  • Job Requirements

    • Previous experience with 4 handed dentistry preferred.



    • Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, unpleasant odors, and or loud noises.
    • Moderate Physical activity. Requires handling average-weight objects up to 15-20 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than 4 hours per day.
    • Will work with blood or blood-borne pathogens and will require OSHA training.
    • Work Environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
