Job Description

Handles multiple project tasks in order to develop, test, modify and/or deploy and support information systems. The Candidate must be competent to work in most phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities. The Candidate must have experience in system integration with a firm understanding of HL7 . He/She is required to take a Technical Test. Preferred: Prior Epic experience with Bridges. Job Relationships - Responsible to: Systems Analysis & Programming Manager - Assignments received from: Systems Analysis & Programming Manager, Systems Analysis & Programming Supervisor - Positions Supervised: May give occasional functional guidance Core Processes and Activities - Demonstrates basic understanding of business functions associated with automated systems and client departments. - Works with project teams to perform tasks associated with all phases of corporate development methodology. - Analyzes work requests and prepares design specifications for basic adaptations. - Develops structured programs, parameters, and/or adaptations from specifications. - Verifies processing logic. Tests and debugs programs, software updates and adaptations. Tests vendor supplied processing and identifies deficiencies requiring vendor action. - Prepares and maintains program, system and operations documentation. Maintains change control documentation. - Facilitates implementation of new or revised functions/systems with all I/T personnel, vendors, consultants and customers. - Demonstrates effective troubleshooting and problem solving skills. - Maintains and supports current systems. - Maintains and demonstrates professional competency. - Complies with organization and department policies and procedures. Qualifications The following qualifications are the minimum necessary to adequately perform this job. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements. **Education and formal training/work experience: - Related Associate Degree and 4 years related experience, OR - Related B.S. Degree and 2 years related experience, OR - General B.S. Degree and 3 years related experience, OR - Programming or Systems Analysis Experience 4-5 years, OR - Equivalent combination **Knowledge, skills and abilities

Job Requirements- Competent to work on fairly complex systems analysis and programming assignments or multiple phases of a project. - General understanding of business or function for which assigned. - Ability to work with all levels of department and hospital personnel from top management down to entry level clerks. Possess knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and respond to needs of customers appropriate to status, job class and education level. - Often works under deadlines and heavy workloads. - Understanding of IT fundamentals and project methodology. Knowledge of hardware and its software (compilers, operating system, utilities) is extremely valuable though not necessarily required. - Ability to take action on a suggested approach within guidelines of standards and procedures. - Ability to apply a critical thinking process to achieve a positive outcome.
