Job Description The successful candidate should have demonstrated experience developing interactive web applications. This experience should include both front-end development (HTML, AJAX, JavaScript, CSS) as well as linux-based server side development (web services, GWT, JSP, Java, LAMP, etc). The position allows for flexibility in choosing the technology stack for the application, but demonstrated expertise in a complete stack is required. A working knowledge of the Linux shell will be helpful as will experience writing data to and extracting data from a database. Experience with machine learning, big data solutions, or statistical modeling is preferred but not necessary. Good communication skills are a must as is the willingness to work closely with the modeling team. A problem-solver who is able to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies is required EssentialDuties and Responsibilities:In this contract, the successful candidate will work on two primary deliverables to increase the capabilities of the system and to modernize the interfaces. 1) The development of a web-based dashboard that allows for easy monitoring of all aspects of the system. The dashboard will be implemented as a web application that will be used for query and display of model and system status information. The dashboard will need to display passive information as well as actively interrogate the models using an existing XML-RPC interface display dynamic information regarding performance and operating characteristics. Additionally, development of a deployment and testing framework to quickly update and test the models is required. This will be integrated with the dashboard so that deployment and testing results can be viewed in real time. The web application will need present information in an attractive, well-organized manner that can be understood by experts and non-experts alike. 2) The enhancement of our Big Data infrastructure in order to provide near real time performance for our predictive model, idea generation, and data mining services. This will involve the development of systems to automate the creation and population of supporting data systems as well as system-monitoring tools for control and maintenance. The resulting systems will also require optimization to maximize service performance.
