Job Description The Help Desk Support Team?s role is to ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the individual give in-person, hands-on help at the usersEssential Job Functions:•Install, configure, maintain and upgrade desktop computer hardware, operating systems, applications and peripherals •Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of problems related to desktop computer hardware, operating systems, applications and peripherals •Recommend and implement proactive or automated solutions to resolve recurring desktop system related issues •Ensure the overall efficient operation of the company's desktop computing environment •Receive and respond to incoming calls, tickets, and emails regarding problems with desktop computers, printer, and associated hardware and software •Maintain an inventory of standard desktop-related hardware and software •Maintain helpdesk notes and documentation concerning daily activities•Interact with approved hardware, software and services vendors•Moderate lifting will be required•New project work will also be assignedRequired Knowledge:•Hands-on desktop/laptop PC hardware installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting experience •3-5 years of job experience in Help Desk and/or IT support technician roles •Ability to conduct research into PC issues and other products as required •Analytical and problem-solving abilities •Strong customer-service orientation•Excellent technical knowledge of PC hardware, Operating Systems, and software•Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment•CompTia A+ preferred, Windows 7/Vista experience is preferred.•Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. •Strong communication skills requiredRequired Skills and Abilities:•Ability to manage multiple, often competing, priorities and tasks and follow through to completion on strict deadlines. •Demonstrated ability to learn new hardware/software/operating systems independently •me and project management skills. •Excellent oral and written communication skills. •Adaptive to changing work schedules and working hours.
